Anxiety

For some people anxiety can be persistent, overwhelming and significantly interfere with daily life. It can show up in many ways; worries that feel uncontrollable, physical tension, restlessness, panic, or avoidance of situations that feel threatening. Anxiety can sometimes be generalised or may be linked to a specific idea or theme, such as health anxiety or social anxiety.

I have extensive experience supporting people with anxiety, providing a space to compassionately explore the role that anxiety may play in our lives and to seek a path towards a life less marked by the challenges anxiety brings. In my work with anxiety, I take an integrative approach, drawing on methods such as CBT, ERP, mindfulness, and other evidence-based strategies, depending on what feels most helpful for each person.

Therapy can help us respond to anxiety in more manageable ways, feel more grounded, and gradually build confidence in facing life’s challenges. The aim is not to eliminate anxiety completely, rather to develop a healthier relationship with anxiety. Psychotherapy for anxiety can be challenging, but it can also be a place where we discover that we are able to face more than we thought possible, when we feel safe enough to explore what frightens us.
